One of today's most recognisable symbols of world peace, Picasso's 'La Colombe de la Paix (The Dove of Peace)' was originally created for the first peace conference in Paris, 1949. The dove became so important to the artist that he named his daughter 'Paloma', the Spanish word for 'dove'.
